The sector of minerals and metals falls behind others that share a higher trade value between Italy and Vietnam. In 2019, the total trade between the two countries for articles of this category amounted to 9 million Euros. However, it is important to notice that among Vietnamese exports to its regional neighbors, products of iron, steel, and other minerals are among the most traded ones. The implementation of the EVFTA may inject further transversal opportunities for trade between not only Italy and Vietnam, but also for the EU and ASEAN member states.
