In the afternoon of February 16th, Ambassador of Italy in Vietnam H.E Antonio Alessandro paid an official visit to Hai Duong province. This is the first official visit in 2022, organized by the Embassy of Italy in Hanoi and joined by ICHAM Chairman Mr. Michele D’Ercole and Executive Director Mr. Quyet Tran.
At the meeting and working with the delegation, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Pham Xuan Thang warmly welcomed H.E Antonio Alessandro visited and worked with Hai Duong province. On the region’s potentials to attract FDI investment, Mr. Thang shared that with 30 years of attracting foreign investment, Hai Duong was the investment destination of more than 490 enterprises from 26 countries and territories, total capital invested more than 9 billion USD. Currently, the province has 10 operating industrial zones with 200,000 employees. With the goal of becoming a modern industrial and service center, Hai Duong sets to achieve green growth and digital transformation, promoting innovation for breakthrough and sustainability, Hai Duong is ready to welcome foreign investors, including investors from Italy to researching and investing in Hai Duong. Priority will be given to fields of investment with high technology content, low labor usage and is environmentally friendly.
H.E Antonio Alessandro thanked Hai Duong province for the solemn welcome, highly appreciated Hai Duong’s development strategy in the future, especially green growth. After nearly 50 years of establishment, the friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries Vietnam – Italy has developed strongly and effectively in many fields, the Ambassador affirmed. On the need to expand the present of Italian’s production in Vietnam, the Ambassador expressed his desire to have many opportunities to exchange and cooperate in all fields with Hai Duong in particular. The Italian Embassy shared three areas that need attention and can have a competitive advantage in the EU market: agriculture, renewable industry and high-quality training.
Mr. Pham Xuan Thang affirmed that these were the areas that Hai Duong was very interested in and had potential for development. He wished that the cooperation relationship between Italy and Vietnam in general, as well as with Hai Duong province in particular, would develop more and more; At the same time, he hoped that the Ambassador and members of the delegation would continue to pay attention to and support Hai Duong in connecting and implementing cooperation programs.
On the visit trip in Hai Duong, the delegation of the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Vietnam visited the concentrated carrot production area in Duc Chinh commune, Cam Giang district; Green An Phat Plastic Joint Stock Company and Chu Dau Ceramic Joint Stock Company.
