Established in 2008, Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (ICHAM) is a representative organization of the Italian business community in Vietnam, promoting trade and investment between Italy and Vietnam as well as facilitating business development and market entry for Italian enterprises and Vietnamese counterparts into the two markets.
ICHAM is looking for a full-time, self-driven, and highly competent Executive Director (ED) who will carry out the mission according to the strategic direction of the Board of Directors (BoD) and the President, design and direct strategies to lead our organization towards favorable growth.
Reporting to the BoD and to the President, ED will have strategic and operational responsibility to coordinate with ICHAM’s staff regarding the programs, expansion, and execution of ICHAM mission. ED will initially develop a deep knowledge of key stakeholders, core programs, operations, and business plans.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Overseeing and monitoring the efficient and effectiveness of ICHAM’s day-to-day operation.
- Contributing to the direction of the Chamber by assisting the President and BoD in defining the strategic lines and policies aimed at achieving the objectives.
- Identifying, assessing, and informing BoD and the President of internal and external issues, regulatory and legal changes that affect the Chamber.
- Representing ICHAM in key relations with Vietnamese authorities and the wider business community.
- Maintaining relationships with the network of Assocamerestero (the Association of the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad) and other Italian Chambers of Commerce in Asia and in South-Africa network.
- Managing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the growth of ICHAM’s programs, services, events and trade missions.
- Establishing good working relationship with the local Italian Institutions (Embassy, Consulate, ICE), Vietnamese Institutions, community groups, sponsors and other business organizations to help achieve the goals of the ICHAM.
- Overseeing the future growth of Membership and assisting activities for Members (focus specifically on new Vietnamese Members) and Membership retention.
- Ensuring the supervision of all administrative, HR and financial matters.
- Overseeing the implementation of the HR policies, procedures and practices.
- Establishing a positive, healthy and safe working environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of working experience in similar position.
Skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in business administration, HR, finance or equivalent practical experience,
- Proven ability in managing relationships with high level institutional stakeholders (Ministries, Embassies, development partners),
- Knowledge of Vietnam & Italy’s institutional, legal, business and cultural environment is preferred,
- Excellent organizational and managerial skills,
- Excellent institutional communication skills.
Languages
- High proficiency in Italian & Vietnamese.
- Working proficiency in English.
