Pasta Masterclass 2021

The first year event of the True Italian Taste project organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam took place on January 26 in Hanoi at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi hotel. The masterclass, focused on the theme of pasta, takes place as part of the True Italian Taste project, promoted and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to increase knowledge and conscious consumption of 100% made in Italy products.

During the event, the Italian chef Alessio Rasom, chef at the Furama Resort Da Nang, prepared dishes based on pasta from different Italian regions, showing to participants the richness and variety of the Italian gastronomic panorama. During the preparation of the dishes, chef Rasom told several cultural and personal stories about the dishes he chose, telling the Italian folklore through his dishes.

The masterclass was divided into several sessions:

  • Opening of the event and speech by the President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, Michele D’Ercole, who introduced the event, and the Executive Director of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam Hoang Pham Hai.
  • Presentation by the Commercial Officer of the Italian Embassy in Hanoi – Antonino Tedesco – some key insights into Made in Italy.
  • Preparation of the dishes held by the Executive Chef Alessio Rasom, who showed the guests how to prepare the pasta directly, from the dough to its serving.

The entire event was accompanied by the involvement of the public through quizzes on some issues discussed during the event, and in conclusion the participants had the opportunity to taste the dishes prepared by the Chef.
