On November 20th, 2019, the new Labor Code (LC) was voted and approved by Vietnam National Assembly (NA). The amended content is focus on terms of application scope, working-hours and overtime, retirement age, the right to establish a representative organization of employees in the enterprise, labor contract termination, and many more.
At the macro level, the Labor Code bring Vietnam is closer to international standard. It’s a stride in ensuring a balance of rights between employees and employers.
Today we would like to focus on the practical changes observed from the legal consultant point of view, which enterprises should well acknowledge and make fundamental changes to keep up with the new Code.
