In just two weeks since the launch of EuroCham’s ‘Breathe Again’ campaign, Eurocham has raised over US$150,000 for essential medical equipment to support Vietnam’s fight against COVID-19, thanks to generous donations from 30 European enterprises and individual investors.
So far, a first ventilator has been delivered to Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, while another three ventilators and two monitors have arrived at Emergency Resuscitation Field Hospital (HSCC) located at Becamex Hospital in Binh Duong.
However, while this is a promising start, it is not enough. The pandemic is affecting more and more communities as cases continue to rise and tragic deaths increase. The situation is urgent and the need is pressing, despite the best efforts of the authorities and the Vietnamese people. That means we need to redouble our efforts.
