VMARK Interior Design Week 2019

ICHAM is honored to have supported the VMARK Interior Design Week, that has been held at the Reverie Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City from May 17th to 20th 2019.

Beginning this year, the VMARK Interior Design Week is an annual event to be held in Vietnam, the Vietnam Design Association said. The aim is to make the Vietnamese design industry grow by enhancing the community through education, awareness and experience. The event also contributes to building a Vietnamese design identity with the purpose of being recognised globally.

The Interior Design Week included three main events: the VMARK Design Summit, VMARK Design Exhibition and VMARK Design Awards. There were many conferences, seminars and networking sessions featuring various topics relating to interior design.

The exhibition managed to bring together local and international designers and manufacturers to enhance cooperation. As the Consul General, Dante Brandi, said during his speech: “Design is a meaningful instrument for international relations. […] Design will probably not save the world but it can be a significant component of the cooperation between Italy and Vietnam […] and Italy can be a significant partner to Vietnam in the pursue of great design”.

This event offered a great opportunity for ICHAM to discuss current issues of mutual interest with delegates from organizations and companies who are involved in the development of design in the Southeast Asia market.

Italian companies involved in the design sector in Vietnam put a lot of effort on Made In Italy quality, safety and respect of the environment. For instance, SCE Project Asia and AA Studio Design both have ties with Italian cultural traditions and with Asia.

As our Chairman, Michele D’Ercole, claimed during his speech: “The high value of the Italian design can help Vietnam improve the quality not only of their buildings but also the quality of the life of the Vietnamese people”.
