Earth Hour at WMC Group

WMC Group will be marking Earth Hour on 30 March 2019 with a number of special events at its hotels and restaurants.

At The Reverie Saigon, all exterior lights will be switched off from 20:30 to 21:30, lobby areas will be dimmed to a minimum and Café Cardinal and The Spa will operate solely with candles.

Meanwhile, Windsor Plaza Hotel, Sherwood Residence and Sherwood Suites will turn off decoration lights and lighted signboards of the hotels’ exterior, and use candles in lobbies and restaurants. Join Sherwood Suites at their Lobby Bar and enjoy 60% off for all classic cocktails during the earth hour.

Finally, Vietnam House, WMC Group’s flagship Vietnamese fine-dining restaurant, will dim to a minimum all outside lighting.

These activities are part of ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives organised by the group.

Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It has been described as the largest world grassroots movement for the environment, with the involvement of around 7,000 cities in 172 countries and territories so far.

In Vietnam, activities responding to the Earth Hour are coordinated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with the support of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN). The EVN has been the main sponsor of the Earth Hour movement in the country for 10 consecutive years since Vietnam joined the campaign in 2009.
