ICHAM Director’s Business Trip in Italy

On October 4th, ICHAM Director Tran Thanh Quyet traveled to Italy for the second time in 2022 and began his business trip in Abruzzo region with a meeting with Mr. Alessandro Nicodemi, Chairman of the Association of Wine Producers in Abruzzo.

The meeting discussed potential activities to promoting wine from Abruzzo region in Vietnam, especially Montepulciano, and plans to organize a mission to connect manufacturers and importers in the near future.

South – East Economic Dialogues (SEED)

On October 6th at South – East Economic Dialogues (SEED), Mr. Quyet along with representatives of the Italian Chambers of Commerce in the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand met companies from Puglia region to discuss the prospects of internationalization in Southeast Asia.

At this important event, Mr. Quyet was honored to deliver a special speech on the main business opportunities in Vietnam, strategic sectors and successful experiences.

31ST WORLD CONVENTION OF ITALIAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE ABROAD

From 8th to 10th of October, ICHAM Chairman Mr. Michele D’Ercole and Executive Director Mr. Tran Thanh Quyet joined the 31st World Convention of Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad in Perugia, Italy.

This year, the convention’s main focus was to elect the new Chairman and Board of Directors of Assocamerestero – the Association that brings together 84 Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad operating in 61 countries around the world and Unioncamere.

ICHAM would like to say thank you to Mr. Gian Domenico Auricchio for his successful two terms as President and congratulate Mr. Mario Pozza – new President, Mr. Ronni Benatoff – new Vice President and other Members of the General Council of Assocamerestero.

The new General Council of Assocamerestero together with the President and Vice President will lead the association during the term 2022-2025.

ASIA, SOUTH AFRICA AND OCEANIA REGIONAL CONFERENCE

During the three days of the 31st Council Meeting of the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad (October 8-10, 2022), the Regional Conference of Italian Chambers of Commerce in Asia, South Africa and Oceania was also held to elect Regional Representative for the term 2022-2025.

For the previous term, ICHAM Chairman Mr. Michele D’Ercole had successfully fulfilled the role of Regional Representative for 3 consecutive terms.

By the end of the meeting, Chambers’ representatives elected and handed over to the new Regional Representative – Mr. Paolo Bazzoni, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China.

In two days 11-12 of October, ICHAM Director Mr. Quyet participated in the Workshop “Coniugare l’Umbria al futuro” (Connecting Umbria region with the future) organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Umbria region and the city government of Perugia, Umbria region.

Also at this place, Mr. Quyet met and exchanged in B2B meetings with businesses in Umbria in the fields of startups, technology and services in the fields of electric cars, chocolate production, raw materials for brewing beer, wine and agriculture production.

These are his last activities in Perugia before continuing his business trip to other parts of Italy.

With ICHAM Desk in Veneto – Mrs. Antonella Piva, our Executive Director Tran Thanh Quyet met and joined a meeting with Mr. Ruben Sacerdoti – Director of the Regional Department for Innovation, Internationalization and FDI Attraction. The meeting was for both sides to exchange information regarding future cooperation between ICHAM and the region of Emilia Romagna.

We have acknowledged possible collaboration opportunities in the sectors including: Green Technologies for water and waste management, Food Processing and Packaging, Organization of exhibitions.

Regarding the economy of Emilia Romagna region:

  • ranked 4th in the country in terms of GDP
  • featured a balanced economy: combining Italy’s most developed agricultural industry and traditional industries including automobile manufacturing, motor and mechanical engineering,…
  • characterized by a strong presence of small and medium enterprises (SMEs)
  • thriving tourism
